The development of and access to life-long learning opportunities during the education process are essential at work and all spheres of social life, given the demographic, socio-economic and technological changes across Asia and Europe. The ASEM Education Policy Conference Series 2016 will bring together researchers, university leaders, government officials, representatives of international organisations, non-governmental organisations and business and industry to discuss lifelong learning issues concerning both Asia and Europe.
In 2016, ASEF will support 4 major conferences initiated by the ASEM Education & Research Hub for Lifelong Learning (ASEM LLL Hub):
- ASEM Lifelong Learning Forum
- ASEM Educational Conference on e-learning (Research Network 1)
- ASEM Education Conference on TVET and Workplace Learning (Research Network 2)
- ASEM Education Conference on National Lifelong Learning Strategies (Research Network 4)
The key objectives of the ASEM Education Policy Conference Series 2016 are:
- Supply expert opinions and suggestions to the 6th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM ME6) which will be held in 2017 in Korea.
- Strengthen the existing Lifelong Learning network between Asia and Europe and expand it by attracting new members and partners, including from business and industry
- Create positive synergies with existing ASEF education projects for a wider promotion and outreach
