The biannual ASEM Forum on Lifelong Learning 2016 on “21st Century Skills” will take place, 3-5 October 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Forum is organised by the ASEM LLL Hub (Danish School of Education of Aarhus University) in cooperation with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Ministry for Children, Education and Gender Quality, and supported by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).
Researchers, policy-makers and practitioners will discuss contemporary possibilities of developing 21st century skills for lifelong learning, key concepts for policies and practices in Asia and Europe, and the role researchers and policy-makers should play in creating lifelong learning opportunities for all. Along with keynote speeches and parallel workshops the Forum is split up in several sub-themes such as linkages between higher education and sustainable development; the role of educators in the 21st century; the assessment and learning culture; national strategies for future learning; education challenges for e-learning; core competences needed for an unknown future; and the workplace as a learning space.
ASEF has invited Ms Eleni BAMPALETAKI (Greece) and Ms Liudmila MANINA (Russian Federation), participants of the ARC5 Students’ Forum and Mr Myagmardorj BUYANJARGAL (Mongolia) and Mr Joseph Lewis REID (United Kingdom), participants of the 7th Model ASEM to provide a youth perspective at the Forum, and share the policy recommendations and intervention as drafted at their respective conferences.
