The 2nd Experts’ Meeting on Cultural Policy gathered 23 policymakers, researchers and cultural policy experts from Asia and Europe to explore areas of mutual interest and common relevance for intra-Asia and Asia-Europe dialogue in arts and culture.
The meeting was organised in the framework of WorldCP – International Database of Cultural Policies initiative supported by ASEF and was held alongside the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture (3-6 October 2011, Melbourne).
The meeting carried forward the discussions initiated at the first Experts’ Meeting on Cultural Policy (27-28 July 2011, Seoul, Korea) and attempted to identify areas of mutual interest for Asia-Europe and intra-Asia dialogue on cultural policy. Creative industries, heritage and arts education were identified as three key areas of common relevance for future dialogue. Selected authors of national cultural profiles undertaken as part of the WorldCP-Asia initiative also shared their experiences of the research process.
The report of the meeting is available in the Documents section of this page.
The next edition of the Experts’ Meeting was held in Hanoi, Viet Nam in December 2013.
