ASEF is supporting the WorldCP – International Database of Cultural Policies, a new web-based database of national profiles. It was launched on 3 October 2011 in Melbourne, Australia, during the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture.
The database will enhance access to current information on arts and cultural policies and trends of ASEM countries. It will also promote exchanges on policy making. ASEF is supporting this initiative through its Asia-Europe Compendium of Cultural Policies programme.
Under the WorldCP project framework, ASEF organised the 2nd Experts’ Meeting on Cultural Policies (7 October 2011, Melbourne). This event gathered 25 government representatives, cultural policy experts and researchers from 15 ASEM countries. They discussed arts related issues and trends in Asia and Europe.
WorldCP is promoted by the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA). ASEF has recently joined IFACCA as an affiliate member.
