The ENVforum organised and facilitated a 2-day workshop entitled, “Post-Paris Workshop: ASEAN Member States in Meeting Global Targets” for government officials from ASEAN Member States (AMS). The workshop aimed at communicating the outcomes and next steps following COP21, and contributing to relevant key result area under the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025, namely sustainable climate.
The workshop was co-organised with the ASEAN Secretariat and GIZ. The ASEAN Secretariat invited the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change (AWGCC) National Focal Point to nominate 2 participants from each ASEAN Member State (AMS) to participate in the workshop. This workshop was held in conjunction with the consultation workshop on the drafting of Post-2015 AWGCC Action Plan. Notable speakers included climate change focal points from AMS governments, who presented on the progress of their respective governments with regards to the Paris Agreement.
The workshop provided an opportunity for the ENVforum to present an updated “Handbook for ASEAN Member States’ Government Officials on Climate Change”, a manual on climate change negotiations status quo of AMS and relevant information about COP21, the Paris Agreement and INDCs prepared especially for the purpose of this workshop.
