The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) through its film website film.culture360.org, and in partnership with the Puttnam School of Film at LASALLE College of the Arts is presenting the free screening and presentation of “10 Lessons in Film”, on 28 and 29 September 2012 at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore.
10 Lessons in Film is a special edition DVD set comprising of 10 in-depth interviews with some of the world’s foremost film personalities. It is a research based pilot project aimed at increasing the stock of knowledge in exchanging discipline specific research between foremost European and Asia Pacific Filmmakers. Launched in 2011, the project is supported by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and CILECT (International Association of Film and Television Schools) in cooperation with LASALLE-SIA, College of the Arts (Singapore).
The programme will comprise of the free screening of 3 of the interviews together with a presentation and panel discussion.
The first 2 interviews will be screened on 28 September, one with Grant Major on Film Production Design and the second one with Wu Tian Ming on Chinese Filmmaking.
On 29 September, the screening of the third interview with David Puttnam on Film Producing will be accompanied by a presentation of the project by the curator Prof. Herman Van Eyken and a panel discussion titled “A European – Asia Pacific exchange, a start for cross cultural collaboration”. The panel will include Charles Maideen, Programme Leader, The Puttnam School of Film, Eva Tang, Filmmaker, Interviewer in Wu Tianming’s Lesson in Film, Jeremy Segay, Attache Audiovisual French Embassy and Herman Van Eyken, Curator of Lessons in Film, Head of School at Griffith Film School.
