film.culture360.org together with the Puttnam School of Film at LASALLE College of the Arts presented the screening and presentation of “10 Lessons in Film” at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore (28-29 September 2012).
“10 Lessons in Film” is a special edition DVD set comprising of 10 in-depth interviews with some of the world’s foremost film personalities. It is a research-based pilot project. It will help in increasing the stock of knowledge in exchanging specific research between leading European and Asia Pacific filmmakers.
Launched in 2011, the project is supported by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and CILECT (International Association of Film and Television Schools) in cooperation with LASALLE-SIA, College of the Arts (Singapore).
The Singapore event in September comprised of 3 screening of interviews along with a presentation and panel discussion. The first interview was with Grant Major on Film Production Design, followed by the second, with Wu Tian Ming on Chinese Filmmaking. The third interview with David Puttnam on Film Producing was accompanied by a presentation by the curator, Prof Herman Van Eyken, and a panel discussion on “A European – Asia Pacific exchange, a start for cross cultural collaboration”.
The panel included Charles Maideen, Programme Leader from the Puttnam School of Film, Eva Tang, Filmmaker and Interviewer in Wu Tianming’s Lessons in Film, Jeremy Segay, Attache Audiovisuel Bureau Français de Taipei, and Herman Van Eyken, Curator of Lessons in Film, Head of School at Griffith Film School.
