OVERVIEW
The Biennale Of The Dance festival — one of Europe’s most prominent festivals — featured over 30 performances inspired by Europe and Asia’s rich cultural heritage.
The theme for the dance festival was “The Silk Roads,” which accentuated the link forged between Asian and European cultures. The three-week festival involved over 800 artists from all over Europe and Asia and saw an attendance of over 100,000 people. The performances took place in all the major halls of Greater Lyon.
The ASEF sees dance as an excellent vehicle of cultural understanding between Asia and Europe, and thus it lent its support to the festival to extend its contemporary dance focus.
