OVERVIEW
The ASEF provides funding to Pointe to Point alumni artists for specific follow-up projects, so as to:
– Facilitate the future development of dance research and collaboration
– Deepen connections among the Asia-Europe Dance Forum participants
– Assist promising alumni artists in realising collaborative projects
“Exotica” was one of the projects funded by the ASEF. As part of the project, artists reflected on identity and their perceptions and expectations of the East and the West, as well as asked the question, “Does the exotic still exist?” The residency was held at Chang Theatre, Bangkok (Thailand) and at Kunsten Centrum BUDA, Kortrijk (Belgium), and artists had the opportunity to connect with art practitioners and operators, as well as with cultural networks and the locals.
