OVERVIEW
This youth dialogue involved 44 youth representatives from religious organisations and networks in 26 ASEM countries, as well as experts in inter-religious dialogue. Participants exchanged views and personal experiences based on their respective religious and spiritual traditions. The objective of this event was to expand Asia-Europe youth co-operation in interfaith dialogue, and to generate new ideas for strengthening co-operation under the ASEM framework.
At the end of the dialogue, participants reached a consensus that was reflected in the Javier Declaration, which was approved on 22 November 2006. This declaration aimed to seek support for the further development of youth interfaith co-operation between Asia and Europe, and it was submitted to ASEM governments for their consideration.
