The `Fostering Asia-Europe TV Co-Production’ Seminar in Bali, Indonesia, from 6th-8th May, 2004 was initiated by The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AlBD), ASEF and the French Government in order to cope with the limited number of Asian-European TV productions and to contribute to a greater exchange of experiences and know-how between both regions.
This inaugural seminar, attended by seven TV producers from Europe, thirteen from Asia and about twenty from Indonesia, was locally supported by Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRl). In general, the objectives of this meeting were: to share professional experiences to promote and facilitate Asia-Europe co-production partnerships; to promote the Dublin Seminar, especially its pitching contest and funds to be allocated to European-Asian co-production projects; and also to enhance Asian producers’ skills in pitching projects.
