OVERVIEW
This conference, titled “10 Years Of Achievements And Future Challenges,” was attended by 70 experts and government officials from ASEM countries. Participants reviewed a draft research report by the Japan Centre for International Exchange and the Helsinki University Network for European Studies to evaluate 10 years of Asia-Europe dialogue and co-operation.
The conference was followed by a public symposium, which presented key findings and recommendations of the conferences, as well as views on trends and developments in Asia-Europe relations. Conference outcomes were also presented to ASEM senior officials, and served as the basis for inputs to the 6th ASEM Summit in Helsinki in September 2006.
