The Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights is an annual human rights dialogue that takes place at the ASEM level, bringing senior civil society experts and government representatives from ASEM Partners. The 16th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights took place on 8-10 November 2016 in Beijing, China, on the theme “Persons with Disabilities and Human Rights”.
Based on the outcomes of the 16th Seminar, ASEF will organise policy briefings to share the key outcomes and recommendations of the seminar report as well as best practices on the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities from across both regions.
- ASEF, the International Disability Alliance and CBM will organise a side-event to the 10th Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP10) taking place on 13-15 June 2017 at the UN Headquarters, New York, USA.
- ASEF and the EU delegation in Singapore will organise a policy briefing on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on the theme of “Human Rights and Persons with Disabilities” on 4 December 2017 in Singapore.
