OVERVIEW
Lingua Comica 3 brought together 14 emerging comics artists from ASEM countries. They were paired in Asian-European teams, where they collaborated for two months via the internet and met for eight days of intensive work in Kyoto, Japan. Through the artist residency programme — which comprised public events, workshops, lectures, and receptions — participants also became acquainted with the comics scene in Japan.
To cap the event, a two-month exhibition at the Kyoto International Manga Museum was held to showcase the participants’ works. The works were also hosted at international festivals such as NextComic International Festival in Linz, Austria, and The Bucheon International Comics Festival in South Korea.
