The ENVforum was honoured to have joined forces with the Global Research Forum on Sustainable Production and Consumption! We are grateful to have been a part of an esteemed group of organisers working towards creating more opportunities for collaboration on the UN SDG 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production.
The Global Research Forum on Sustainable Production and Consumption brought together researchers and practitioners engaged in research on the worldwide transition to sustainable production and consumption systems. The goal of this gathering was to enhance development and adoption of production and consumption policies, practices and systems which meet basic needs – especially of the poor and vulnerable – and provide prosperity, while conserving natural resources and protecting the environment.
The 4th international conference, hosted by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), focused on “Transforming Production and Consumption: Bridging Sustainability Research with Policy and Practice”. The conference was co-organised by Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), National Institute for Environmental Studies, SWITCH to Green Initiative, SWITCH Asia Programme, and Asia-Europe Environment Forum.
The ENVforum organised a plenary session on the sustainable consumption and production of food, plastics, and textiles on 28 June 2019. This session included presentations on the outcomes from the ENVforum Annual Conference 2018 held in Warsaw, Poland.
The conference consisted of several interactive sessions allowing for the exchange of presentations showcasing national progress and achievements by representatives worldwide as well as plenary discussions on relevant aspects of SCP and circular economy.
