The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) has organised the side-event “Sustainable Resource Management and Energy Security in Asia and Europe” jointly with the Centre for Climate and Sustainable Development Law and Policy (CSDLAP), and the Green Asia Organization (GAO) at the Twenty-Second Session of the Conference of Parties (COP22) in Marrakesh, Morocco on 15 November 2016. In the face of increasing pressure on natural resources, there is a need to ensure the global conservation, sustainable management, and multifunctional use of energy resources. The side-event aimed at enhancing international dialogue and knowledge exchange on good practices for the improvement of sustainable resource management and its integration in energy policies. The event has gathered policymakers and experts from Asia, Europe and other regions involved in the implementation of sustainable management of energy resources.
This event was the first event organised within the Asia-Europe Energy Policy Forum project.
The Asia-Europe Energy Policy Forum aims to bring together representatives from government agencies and experts in the field of energy and climate change from research institutions, among others, to develop insights into the energy policy of ASEM members and explore areas of cooperation to mitigate the common critical energy challenges they face.
