OVERVIEW
Fourteen museum curators from eight ASEM member countries gathered to discuss the curatorial contents and organisational concerns of the ASEMUS Travelling Exhibition (Travex) project.
The exhibition was scheduled to be opened at the Shanghai History Museum in China in July 2008 and to travel in Asia and Europe until 2010.
For the past three years, the Travex team has been working with 18 museums from Asia and Europe, with over 30 curators actively engaged in the exhibition’s development. The planned three-year touring portraiture exhibition “Self And Other,†led by the British Museum (UK) and the National Museum of Ethnology (Osaka, Japan), was developed in close partnership with the ASEF.
