OVERVIEW
This year-long event in Finland attracted 135,000 spectators and resulted in a series of 20 radio programmes on Asian subjects with an estimated 2 million listeners.
Consisting of exhibitions, performances, lectures, and film screenings, The Year of Asian Cultures was implemented in co-operation with a curatorial team designated by the Ministry of Education of Finland. It offered its mainly European visitors an insight into the diverse cultures of Asia. The events were distributed around the whole country, with main events taking place in and around Helsinki and Tampere.
