The 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the ASEF University Alumni Network (ASEFUAN) took place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 05 August 2010. It was preceded by a 2-day academic conference on 3-4 August 2011, entitled “Securing Public Health in a Globalised World” and included a Model-ASEM on a selected public health topic. The conference gathered around 70 participants.
More than 20 speakers from the academic, public and private sector tackled a wide range of public health issues. Topics included interregional cooperation on pandemics, ageing societies, public-private partnerships and innovative technologies from both a European and Asian perspective. Other than providing the network with valuable knowledge on this range of public health issues, the events also provided an excellent venue for the establishments of new partnerships and the strengthening of old ties.
