ASEF Unplugged: Conversations on the Arts in Asia and Europe
Travel & Environmental Sustainability: Can the twain meet?
The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) collaborates with the Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development to organise ASEF Unplugged-Amsterdam. This edition is a closed-door conversation among cultural mobility funders and information points on promoting & funding international travel in the time of climate change.
How can we implement the current concern of climate change and sustainability in all projects and specifically in mobility funding? In this closed-door gathering, mobility funders in European and Asian contexts gather to share experiences and brainstorm together. The STEP (Supporting Travel for Engaged Partnerships) Programme by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) already promotes travels using sustainable means of transport. However, they operate in an environment where this is made realistically possible. How do we promote this in a wider context? What strategies can be adopted to prioritise sustainability? How to build on previous work done in this area?
