ASEM Lifelong Learning Hub Forum 2020
Creating dialogue between researchers and educational policymakers
ASEF was happy to support the ASEM Lifelong Learning Hub Forum 2020 – organised by the ASEM LLL Hub Secretariat, hosted at the University College Cork, Ireland. The ASEM Education and Research Hub for Lifelong Learning (ASEM LLL Hub) is an official network for university cooperation in Lifelong Learning Research between Asia and Europe.
The ASEM LLL Hub’s operation is a part of the ASEM Education Process and it is a strong partner of ASEF. The Hub brings together more than 100 researchers in its 6 research networks, senior representatives of universities and Senior Officials from ASEM ministries of education.
Virtual Forum
The first day of the three-day event was dedicated to lifelong learning research and policy review. Research Networks were given the opportunity to highlight some of their work and key global challenges, such as climate change, migration, (post-) covid-19, social and economic challenges, were discussed in the framework of key international policy contexts, including the ASEM Education Draft Strategy 2030.
The second and third days were devoted to the drafting and adoption of a five-year ASEM LLL Hub Action Plan. This Action Plan will be used to define a set of overall ASEM LLL Hub priorities for 2020-2025. In addition, each Research Network will propose a work programme for 2020-2021, as well as a road map for activity for the period 2021.2025. The Action Plan was successfully adopted by the plenary.
