OVERVIEW
As the two main regional organisations of the Network’s Advisory Group, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat and the European Commission have confirmed their willingness to share each other’s experiences and explore areas of collaboration. This technical meeting provided an opportunity to explore the capacity of existing regional mechanisms to address pandemics as well as to assess challenges faced by regional organisations in controlling infectious diseases. Asian and European experts from different organisations contributed to this discussion.
