Launched in 1998, the ASEF Classroom Network (ASEF ClassNet) provides opportunities for intercultural exchanges through the use of ICT among secondary and high schools in ASEM countries. It has been ASEF’s most effective instrument over the past 17 years for engaging Asian and European secondary, high school and vocational school students.
1. ASEF ClassNet Website (January-December)
The ASEF ClassNet Website is an online platform that helps connect Asian and European schools and teachers by initiating and promoting online collaborations. Part of the ASEF ClassNet website is the quarterly published ASEF ClassNet e-Newsletter, in which the latest developments of the ASEF ClassNet project are described.
2. 13th ASEF Classroom Network Conference
The ASEF Classroom Network Conferences allow teachers from secondary and high schools and educators to network by initiating school collaborations & exchanges and online projects with Asian and European schools, as well as train their professional skills by exploring specific topics in the field of education. In 2016 the ASEF ClassNet Conference will focus on the subject of “”Nurturing entrepreneurial minds in school: Learning from best practices in Asia and Europe”, in line with the current global trend in primary and secondary education by private and government schools across Asia and Europe.
3. ASEF ClassNet Online Collaborations (January-July)
Facilitated by the ASEF ClassNet Website and Conference, the ASEF ClassNet online collaborations are jointly developed and run by Asian and European secondary and high schools to facilitate and promote inter-cultural exchanges between teachers and students. The online collaborations cover a period of approximately 6 months.
Every year, 6 collaborations are selected to receive the ASEF ClassNet Awards for their outstanding achievements in advancing the objectives of ASEF ClassNet.
