OVERVIEW

This meeting brought together 15 high-level individuals from Asia and Europe to address the issue of racism and xenophobia in the two regions, with the objective of coming up with policy recommendations on improving the situation. Participants were encouraged to understand the situations in other countries and regions, and discussion topics included the following:

– Immigration and labour migration

– The role of education in perpetuating racism and xenophobia

– The roles of the media and national and international policies
