OVERVIEW
The 6th Asia-Europe Classroom Network Conference, with the theme “Building an Asia-Europe Online Network for Secondary and High Schools” was co-organised with the Gymnasium of Livadia, supported by the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia and the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. 80 teachers and educators from 28 ASEM countries* participated at the conference. Representatives from Estonia, Slovenia and Slovakia were present at the conference for the first time.
During the Conference, three AEC Awards were conferred to three groups for their efforts in producing outstanding online learning platforms or applications under the AEC framework. These groups were:
- Cultural Kaleidoscope 2006
- Local Traditions and Ceremonies
- Mastering Media
The Excellence Award Certificate were also conferred to the three other shortlisted Project Groups, namely:
- Eco-Cultural Tourism
- Foodfest@VirtualHomestay
- The World in a Book 2005
At the conclusion of the conference, 32 AEC Projects were proposed (new and continuing) and will be developed after the conference.
