OVERVIEW
The 5th Asia-Europe Art Camp saw 22 emerging artists from 19 countries in Asia and Europe gathering in Bangkok to explore the possibility of connecting new media art practices to the relational aesthetic concept. Two artistic advisers, Noraset Vaisayakul (Thailand) and David Kousemaker (Netherlands), led participants in experimenting with new art approaches. Camp highlights included a public lecture and discussions featuring media and social art specialists. A post-publication recording the overall process of the camp as well as a DVD was published at the end of 2008.
The Asia-Europe Art Camp is an ASEF initiative, which promotes cross-cultural dialogue and exposes student artists to new media art developments in Asia and Europe.
