OVERVIEW
The second instalment of ASEF University brought together 34 undergraduates, most of whom were studying social and political science, history, economics, or international law. Through an intensive programme of lectures and discussions, participants gained insights and traded views on the following topics:
– European integration and monetary union
– Western democracy and Asian values
– The ASEM process
Participants were also treated to a rich cultural programme, which included visits to the Great Wall, Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, and the Ming Tombs.
