ASEF launched the Dialogue of Cultures and Civilisations Programme in October 2003 with the focus of bringing together the various leaders of opinion from civil society and government in Asia and Europe. The programme addresses the need of a continuous dialogue to stem an apparent “rising tide” of intolerance and distrust, and promotes unity in diversity.
This publication is a reflection of the various meetings, conversations, discussions, and even arguments and confrontations that have taken place throughout the 2005/2006 period of the programme. It notably features reports on racism and xenophobia, intellectual property and civil liberties which were the topics of discussion during the 7th to and 9th Talks on the Hill. It also features the 13th to 18th Asia-Europe Lecture Tours that were hosted in various major cities in Asia and Europe. Readership: General audience interested in multiculturalism, intercultural dialogue, interfaith issues and social studies.
