This report contains conclusions and suggestions that were derived from the keynote-speeches and workshops at the Foresta meeting, the Asia-Europe Conference on Museums held in Stockholm, Sweden from the 6th to 9th September 2000. Where, eighty museum directors, senior curators and civil servants from Asia and Europe, met to discuss, the challenges for museums. The two main focuses of this meeting were the global processes of museum change and the possibilities for increased Asia Europe cooperation. The keynote addresses covered instructive information and experiences of senior representatives from National Heritage Board, Singapore, The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Spain, National Museum of Ethnology, Japan, National Museum of World Culture, Gothenburg, Sweden and the International council of Museums.
