The International Workshop on Flexible Materials in Asian Collections was held from 7th to 25th April, 2003. The meeting was an in-depth discussion on a broad range of Asian tangible cultural materials and its respective needs for support and handling as part of an ongoing collaboration between Asian and European Museums. This volume is a post event publication of the above event including a brief report on the workshop and working papers on
- the diversity of value of flexible materials like bamboo and its utilization for craft and its preservation,
