Asia-Europe Young Political Leaders Symposia (AEYPLS)

Overview

These bi-annual symposiums offer opportunities for regular dialogue among next-generation political leaders on issues that affect political, social, and economic developments in ASEM member countries. The symposiums were launched with the following objectives:

• Give young leaders the opportunity to participate in discussions and workshops on key issues of ASEM countries.
• Draft agreed conclusions in a Declaration, to be presented to ASEM partners and governments.

Attendees at the AEYPLS  are primarily established, influential professionals aged 40 and below, who:

• Have a global outlook and keen interest in international co-operation.
• Want to promote strong links between Asia and Europe.
• Come from diverse backgrounds, including politics and administration, business, academia, media, arts and culture, sciences, and civil society.
