The international economic crisis has taken its toll on the Euro. The Eurozone economies are still grappling with several downside risks. Has the world not learned from past crises?
ASEF has invited renowned French public intellectual Dr Jacques Attali to address the issue of the on-going international crisis during his Public Talk on 13 January 2011 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Raffles Hotel Ballroom. Members of the public want to know how international financial institutions should manage better the slide in international confidence against shaky European economies.
Over 250 people from the academe, business professionals, members of the media and the diplomatic corps will be present. His Excellency George Yeo, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, will introduce Dr Attali.
This event is organised in partnership with the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS).
About the speaker
Dr Jacques Attali is a professor, writer and Honorary Member of the Council of State of France. He was the founder and the first President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 1991 to 1993. He served as a Special Adviser to French President François Mitterrand from 1981 to 1991, and was named by the US Foreign Policy magazine as one of the top 100 public intellectuals in the World.
