A project submitted by staff of the Helinä Rautavaara Museum (Espoo, Finland) and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (Hanoi) has been selected under the 2014 call of ASEMUS’ Educational Exchange and Outreach Programme.
Thanks to the grant provided by ASEMUS, Ilona Niinikangas, curator for education at the Helinä Rautavaara Museum, and Vu H?ng Nhi, Vice Head of the Education Department at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, will be able to carry out a two-week visit at each other’s museum.
The aim of this exchange is to analyse and learn from their respective experiences in strategic planning, international partnerships and educational programming. In addition, they also plan to collect materials on folk toys and festivals in both countries and to conduct workshops with these items in each other’s museums. Both museums specialise in ethnology and ethnography.
