The Education Department is proud to announce the launch of the very first ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab) focusing on the Universities’ Role in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovation Ecosystems. This is an 8-week long online project that brings together university managers, administrators and academics to discuss strategies to enhance their role in the development of artificial intelligence innovation ecosystems. In particular, the ASEFInnoLab will tackle the following two topics:
1 | Teaching and Entrepreneurship for AI Innovation Ecosystems
2 | Research and Technology Transfer in AI Innovation Ecosystems
The project provides a unique opportunity for participants to exchange good practices, co-create new ideas and explore areas for collaboration among their institutions.
Having received hundreds of applications from higher education managers from both Asia and Europe, only 28 participants were selected. All the participants play a key role either in their organization, university, country, or region. The background of participants ranges from directors of centers for artificial intelligence and of international organizations to professors and university presidents, and from experts with decades of experience in artificial intelligence to scholars exploring unchartered territory in innovating artificial intelligence. The ASEF Education Department, in partnership with Fudan University and APRU, will facilitate eight online sessions from March 25 to May 13.
