The first ever Social Enterprise Symposium took place in Yangon on 10 October 2012. This was part of the Skills for Social Entrepreneurs programme that ASEF co-organises with the British Council (BC).
The event attracted over 100 participants. It was an opportunity for the business community in Myanmar to hear a variety of speakers from East Asia and the UK. Attendees discussed the benefits of using a business approach to address social and environmental issues.
The symposium was held back to back with a three-day Partner Networking Event. ASEF participated in that networking event as one of BC’s global partners for the Skills for Social Entrepreneurs programme.
