Representing ASEF at the 3rd ASEM Meeting of Ministers for Education (ASEMME

ASEF team members from the People-to-People Exchange department attended the 3rd Asia-Europe Meeting of Ministers for Education in Copenhagen, Denmark from 9-10 May 2011.

On the occasion of the third edition of “Asia Europe Meeting for Ministers of Education” (ASEMME3), delegations of ASEM member countries strengthened existing ties in the field of education cooperation through discussions of the Meeting’s topics, such as, quality assurance and recognition, balanced mobility, lifelong learning and opportunities for engaging business in Education. Participants also visited a select number of Danish educational institutions.

ASEF team members Zhang Hongtie, Director of People-to-People Exchange Department together with Assistant Director Edwige Rozier and Project Executive Helen Sophia Balderama took part in the Education Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) as well as the Education Ministers’ meeting. They were also happy to meet with former P2P department intern Madalena Csizmazia, who is currently working for the ASEM Education Secretariat.

On 12 May 2011 – straight after the ASEMME3 – ASEF representatives attended the first planning meeting with the University of Groningen, which will be hosting and co-organising the 3rd edition of the ASEM Rectors’ Conference (3rd ASEM RC) in 2012.
