In September 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) therein to address the economic, social and environmental issues of our time by the year 2030.
To support this process, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) will organise a regional workshop on 14-15 June 2016 in Hanoi, Viet Nam, for ministry officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam. The event is co-organised with the Hanns Seidel Foundation (Germany) and will provide a space for exchange of ideas regarding the implementation of SDGs.
The workshop is designed to promote exchange on regional and international levels, as well as on cross-ministerial levels. Development experts and government officials involved in SDGs and the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) will gather to discuss opportunities in the integration of SDGs in national planning and the creation of a monitoring framework for SDGs.
Besides presentations during the workshop, ASEF will also share its new manual on implementing SDGs amongst participants. This manual will be made available on the ASEF website later this year.
