WHAT IS THE ASIA-EUROPE TRAINING AND YOUTH SUMMIT ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DIPLOMACY?
As part of the Asia-Europe Science & Technology Diplomacy Initiative for Young Leaders, we conduct a 7-week long online Training and in-person Youth Summit, bringing together early-career professionals working in the international sphere on science, technology, and innovation related matters to learn about Science and Technology Diplomacy and its importance in Asia-Europe relations.

WHAT DOES THE ASIA-EUROPE TRAINING AND YOUTH SUMMIT ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DIPLOMACY OFFER?
Asia-Europe Youth Summit on Science and Technology Diplomacy | 15-18 December 2025 | Copenhagen, Denmark
Selected participants from the online Training will be invited to join the Asia-Europe Youth Summit on Science and Technology Diplomacy between 15-18 December 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark organised alongside the 2nd European Science Diplomacy Conference, and under the Danish EU Presidency.
At the Youth Summit, youth delegates will present a Declaration on Youth Perspectives on Asia-Europe Cooperation in Science Diplomacy, contributing their voices to high-level discussions and shaping the future of collaboration in this vital field.
The Youth Summit is organised in partnership with the Central European Scientific Society of Innovation and Technology (CESSIT) and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark.
ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We invite early-career professionals with the following profiles to apply:
- Civil Society: Research and Science Managers in tertiary education institutions, research organisations, and professional organisations working in international science, technology and innovation-related matters
- Government: Diplomats and Government Officials working in the areas of international collaboration and science and technology diplomacy topics
Participants will need to comply with the following eligibility criteria:
- Citizens of eligible Asian and European countries* up to 35 years old
- Excellent command of English (Verbal and written) and of the official language of the selected country
- Currently working as a Research or Science Manager (Civil Society) or a Diplomat or Government Official (Government) in one of the eligible Asian and European Countries
Selection criteria such as motivation to participate and demonstrated experience in Science and Technology Diplomacy.

WHAT COMMITMENT IS NEEDED?
The Training programme will take place between 23 October–4 December 2025. Participants are required to join and set aside time to participate fully in the online sessions. Participants are expected to:
- Actively participate in 13 live sessions over the course of the 7 weeks (on average 3 hours per week), taking place on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8am–9:30am UTC online
- Engage in discussions & peer-to-peer learning and learning from experts
Selected participants who are invited to join the Youth Summit, in Copenhagen, Denmark (15-18 December 2025) are expected to fully complete both the Training programme, and attend and actively engage onsite in Copenhagen.
ARE THERE ANY COSTS INVOLVED?
Participation is free of charge. There are neither registration nor participation fees for this programme. Accommodation, meals, and travel subsidies will be provided for the selected participants for the Youth Summit.
