“Asian and European independent movies need more visibility” according to Jérémy Segay, the film expert and member of the selection committee of the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight. “In a difficult economic context, it is even more crucial for film makers to rely on both Asian and European public grants, film support programmes and partners,” he added.
That’s what our new website film.culture360.org aims to do. The website features news and in-depth analyses of trends and topics in independent cinema from Asia and Europe. It helps Asian and European film makers, producers and organisations find information on funding, networking and distribution opportunities. Jérémy Segay is the editor of this site.
It is part of the culture360.org portal, managed by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). It connects the Asian and European arts and culture sectors. Through film.culture360.org ASEF promotes a stronger collaboration between film industries in both regions.
The new film website was launched during the screenings for the Human Frames film project. This was held in February at The Substation, an independent arts centre in Singapore.
