To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) recently launched the Mobility First! ASEF Cultural Mobility Initiative, a new fund that supports the movement of Asian and European artists and cultural professionals in Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) partner countries.
The 19th edition of the Far East Film Festival (FEFF) on 20-30 April, in Udine, Italy, is among the first projects to be supported. Regarded as one of the most important festivals of Asian cinema, it is managed by Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche (CEC), a cultural association supported by the Italian Government, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and Udine Provincial and Municipal Authorities.
This year, the FEFF will host the 3rd edition of the Far East Film Campus, a writing and editorial workshop for young aspiring film journalists. ASEF will support the mobility of Megumi ARITA (Japan), Maja KORBECKA (Poland), Joshua LIM (Malaysia), and Paige LIM (Singapore) to attend the Campus.
By enabling the mobility of selected participants to the FEFF, ASEF continues its support for capacity building for young film professionals.
