Mr Pedro Miguel Resende from Portugal, Ms Ibtisem Ben Nassib from Malaysia, Mr Lorenzo Ciani from Iraly, Mr Riyanto Lesmana and Mr David Saputro Sugianto from Indonesia.
They are the five winners of the Asia-Europe Short Films Contest 2012. Their entries were selected from among the 100 short films submitted by young filmmakers from about 30 Asian and European countries. The selection was done by an international jury panel which includes Mr Michel Burke, Chair of the Department of Graduate Film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, Mr Daniel Yun, founder and CEO of “Homerun Asia”, a Singapore-based movie company, and Ms Natacha Devillers, producer of film company Les Petites Lumières. One of the five awardees was selected by audience vote. This voting was done online through ASEF social media channels.
The Asia-Europe Short Films Contest award ceremony will be held at the National Library, Singapore on Thursday 17 May 2012. Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will present the awards to the winners.
