The second edition of the funding guide, Mapping for Funding Opportunities for International Cultural Exchange in Asia comes nine months after the launch of the first edition and offers  a number of relevant updates. The guides are part of ASEF’s on-going initiative to create a one-stop online location for up-to-date mobility-related information that is easily and publicly available.

The current edition comprises of 19 country guides that map opportunities in Asian under the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM); a regional guide for Asian nationals looking for opportunities within Asia and internationally; and an international guide that covers opportunities for cultural professionals (of all nationalities) to come to Asia, as well as schemes for Asian nationals to undertake international exchange.

The country guide for Bangladesh, one of the newest members of ASEM, is a new addition to this edition.

Cultural mobility remains a crucial issue for artists in Europe and Asia. In the Asian context, the need for a clear picture of the present status of mobility funding has been keenly felt for some time now. Through these new guides, artists and cultural practitioners will now be able to readily access information on different types of mobility, such as artists’ residencies or production grants, available for different artistic disciplines. Listed opportunities include public and private funding sources at local, national, regional and international levels.

The initiative is supported by the Arts Network Asia, Korea Arts Management Service, Japan Center, Pacific Basin Arts Communications and the Tokyo Performing Arts Market.
