On 5 December 2021, the “We Are Together” International Prize awarding ceremony was held on the sidelines of the #WeAreTogether International Forum of Civil Participation in Moscow and online.
The Asia-Europe Foundation has participated in the Organizing Committee of the International Prize “We are Together” with representatives from other international organizations. The Organizing Committee met on 8 November 2021 to discuss the results of the evaluation of applications, approve the final list of laureates and make proposals on the subject of the Prize for the next year.
More than 400 applications from 59 countries were submitted by both individuals and legal entities. Out of these, 12 laureates of the following countries have been selected under each nomination:
- Personal contribution as a citizen: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Brazil.
- Medicine: Ecuador, Portugal, Belarus.
- Business: Liberia, China, India.
- Education and technology: Turkey, Thailand, Israel.
The special nomination “Good Deed of the Year” was also introduced. Its winner was from Azerbaijan and was selected from the nominations mentioned above.
The International Prize “We Are Together” was established by the Russian Federation in 2020. Its goal is to identify and encourage citizens and organizations in various countries that have selflessly contributed to the solution of important humanitarian problems.
The 2021 Prize was dedicated to fighting against the spread of COVID-19 and supporting the vulnerable segments of the population during the pandemic.
