In-kind Provision to Brunei to Support the Fight against COVID-19 Pandemic

A total of 50,000 N95 masks arrived in Brunei Darussalam on the 30th September 2021 as part of the Stockpile Project under the ASEM Initiative where the assistance is expected to support the nation’s capacity in handling the surge of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Following the PPE contribution to three ASEM partner countries in May 2021, the PPE dispatched to Brunei indicates that a large number of people from the ASEM member countries will benefit from the stockpile project.

On the 4th of October, a hand-over ceremony was held in the presence of Embassy of Japan in Brunei and Ministry of Health (MoH), Brunei. The government of Brunei welcomed the initiative and expressed their gratitude to the Government of Japan and ASEF stockpile project for the in-kind provision.
