The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) will attend the exhibition opening of Focus+Indonesia – an interdisciplinary mobile art residency. The exhibition will showcase the artworks produced by artists, designers, art curators & culture-makers including experimental musicians and culture anthropologists, during their residency in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Denpasar (Indonesia) in February 2014. In this second phase of the project, the Indonesian partners, curators and artists will meet again in Berlin, Szczecin, Poznan and Warsaw where they will present the results of their common project, including an art-book concerning the residency, a documentary film and the artists’ works.
The exhibition will open at the National Museum Szczecin, Academy of Arts Szczecin on Saturday 7 June 2014. The opening will be attended among others by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Poland H.E. DR. Darmansjah Djumala, the Representative of the Office Marshal of West-Pomerania region Mr Olgierd Geblewicz, and the Director of the National Museum in Szczecin Mr Lech Karwowski.
The curators of the project Kris Lukomski and Frigidanto Agung will introduce the project to the audiences. ASEF’s representative Ms. Sasiwimon Wongjarin will also give a speech at the opening ceremony.
Focus+Indonesia is one of the 4 projects selected from over 160 proposals submitted through a competitive open call in 2013 under the 3rd edition of the Creative Encounters programme.
