Themed ‘Beyond the Academic Yardstick: the Societal Excellence of Education’, the 3rd Asia-Europe Education Workshop took place on 25-26 September 2013 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It gathered around 30 experts, practitioners, and university leaders from 13 ASEM countries.
Amongst the participants was Mr Mechai VIRAVAIDYA, Chairman of Mechai Viravaidya Foundation in Thailand. His presentation was on social innovation’s contributions to knowledge creation, transfer and application. Mr VIRAVAIDYA is a pioneer in population control and in combating HIV/AIDS in Thailand
