The Editors’ Roundtable is the top media project organised every alternate year by ASEF. The event is an excellent networking opportunity for editors and senior media commentators from leading media agencies in Asia and Europe.
The 8th ASEF Editors’ Roundtable, to be held on 7-9 July 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia will be a special edition to explore the topic of “Connectivity” from the perspective of media practitioners in the two regions. 20 senior media representatives from esteemed media houses including Wenhui Daily (China), Frontline Magazine (India), The Jakarta Post (Indonesia), The Independent (Ireland), The Straits Times (Singapore), the Mongolian National Public Radio & Television, BBC (United Kingdom) and Vietnam Plus will participate in this event. The discussions of the roundtable will focus on digital connectivity including the roles and responsibilities of the media while communicating with a diverse range of audiences in the digital space.
Prior to the 8th ASEF Editors’ Roundtable, similar topics were also discussed during two preparatory journalists’ workshops, one in Europe (28-29 January 2016 in Brussels, Belgium) and one in Asia (7-11 May 2016 in Guangzhou, China). The conclusions from these workshops together with the inputs from an online media survey will set the context for discussions at the editors’ roundtable.
