ASEF Executive Director, Mr Toru MORIKAWA, spoke about ASEF’s work in public health in the webinar “COVID-19 Post-Action Plan: How ASEM Could Help Handle Global Pandemic and What to Do Next?” on 25 September 2020, 09.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m Jakarta time. The webinar was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, in cooperation with the LSPR Communication & Business Institute in Jakarta.
Asia and Europe are natural partners and the Asia-Europe Meeting – ASEM (ASEM) is one of the biggest multilateral foras that deal with a broad spectrum of issues. We must work together in dealing with global challenges like the #COVID19 pandemic. Mr Morikawa talked in detail about the the #ASEM Initiative for the Rapid Containment of Pandemic Influenza launched in 2009 as a response to H1N1 or SARS and includes ASEF’s Public Health Network and stockpiling of Anti-Viral Drugs & PPEs which continues until today.
