Overview
James Chan is a student, inclusion advocate and autistic person.
Leonie Nagarajan is a lifelong learner and education professional.
One of them is personally experiencing the diversity of opportunities (or its lack of) in Higher Education at different levels. The other one is working with student bodies, HE institutions and governments from Asia and Europe to establish Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) as a key value and strategic direction in the education system.
This HED talk blends both perspectives with personal and professional insights. From Ministerial declarations to institutional strategies, on site action plans to a reality check: when can we tick the DEI checkbox and which key issues of DEI in HE still remain on our wish list?
