The Asia Europe Economic Forum (AEEF) brought together top economists to examine the latest economic challenges facing Asia and Europe. The Forum was held from 28-29 October 2013 in Beijing, China.
Topics discussed include the sovereign debt problems in the US, Europe and Japan, the Eurozone, monetary policy and exchange rate policy, the new agenda of the WTO and regional trade negotiations, and the prospects for the Chinese economy.
The AEEF was opened by Professor ZHANG Yuyan, Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and participants were welcomed by Dr Guntram WOLFF, Director of BRUEGEL. Sessions were further chaired by Ambassador ZHANG Yan, Executive Director of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).
